Ok, so I'm bending the rules a bit this month.  My post is going to cover October and early November. 
"Nightmare Before Christmas" - I have loved this ever since I saw it in the theater many, many moons ago.  And am proud to say that now my daughter LOVES it as well.  It's now a Halloween tradition in our house that after trick-or-treating, the girls put on their pjs and we all watch this together. :D


"Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire" - Yes, my month was full of kid's Halloween movies.  LOL  This one was cute and it had the lovely bonus of starring one of my teenage soap star crushes Charles Shaughnessy as the vampire.  He has aged amazingly well...looks just like he did a billion years ago on Days of Our Lives.
Hetty Wainthropp Investigates - I am almost through the entire series.  Dom is so very cute and does such a great job.  It's so fun to watch him grow up right before your eyes. :D


This was hillarous!  It's a new DVD release, but they have been airing bits of it on TV.  I have adored these guys for years!  They sooo crack me up!  Timeless!  Although I have to admit, there was a clip where I saw waaay too much of Graham. *shudders*  lol


Top Chef - I love this show...especially the current season and the past two seasons.  My favorites this season are the two brothers.  I'm thinking it's a safe bet they'll make it to the finale.

Ride - C@ry Br0thers</div>Cary Brothers - "Ride" He is a local artist who went off to California and perfected his style.  I just recently found out about him and even more recenly found out he was from here.  I LOVE this song and love his style.  So laid back and well so very un-Nashville.  LOL  A breath of fresh air. :D

Greg Laswell's cover of Kate Bush's "This Woman's Work" - Another song I am in love with right now.  This is on his "Covers" album.  I hadn't listened to it very much until they played it on Three Rivers.  It was played during the big, dramatic, emotional moment of that episode, when Dr. Yablonskiy's (Alex O'Laughlin) wife decides they can't save their marriage.  I realized how awesome of a song it was then.

Greg Laswell and Ingrid Michaelson - "Light in Me" - I so love the way their voices fit together.  They need to duet more often and they need to write together more often too.  Such a beautiful song...beautiful tune, beautiful words, just beautiful.  I especially like the idea of him doing a verse, then her doing one, then coming together for the chorus and final verse.


Soldier - Ingrid Michaelson</div>Ingrid Michaelson "Soldier" - "And so it goes this soldier knows the battle with the heart isn't easily won...but it can be won..."  Realistic, but hopeful.  I like that.  She's such a strong, smart lady with an amazing voice, truly kick-butt in concert and oh so very funny.

Whether they are together or just friends, it doesn't change the fact that they are both so very funny, nice, and awesome musicians.  And if they are together, well then they are one adorable couple. ;)

Ok, so I still can't totally wrap my mind around everything that happened last night.  I'm still too squeeey and bouncy for that, but I had to upload a video I shot and share it!  It's Ingrid and Greg doing a song they wrote together.  It's so far untitled although she said people on YouTube are calling it "The Light in Me".  This song was one of the highlights of my night, second only to meeting both of them! :D  Their voices are beautiful together and it's so intimate and sweet.  It's like they've opened a little window into their lives and let us in for just a brief moment.  If that ain't love in those eyes folks...

I am so bouncy today!  Hee!  Tomorrow night is the Ingrid Michaelson/Greg Laswell concert and I CAN'T WAIT!!!  Report shall follow, probably on Tuesday since I took the day off.  :D   Plus I think I may still be on a sugar high from Halloween.  LOL

Oh and yeah, the fact that Dom answered my question on TV!!! :D  There is a newish channel called Current TV and they have a 30 minute program where they allow different celebrities to "take over" the channel and answer fan questions.  So, I submitted a question and set the DVR to tape while I was out.  When we got home, I turned it on just to make sure it taped and Amy and I were watching the first part when OMG! the first question he answered was mine!! 

They put up my name and picture on the screen and Amy's eyes got wide and looked over at me.  "Mommy!  You're famous!"  I said, playing around with her, "Well, you are too.  You've had your picture on the news twice and a video clips of you as well."  Her response..."Yes, but not with DOMINIC!"  Hee...my little fangirl!

Greg Laswell's new album of covers comes out tomorrow, but Paste Magazine has the songs on their website already.  You can't download them yet, but you can listen to them.  And right now, Greg has all of the top listened to spots. :D  I'm going to post them incase anyone wants to give them a listen.  They are from Greg's new album "Covers".  Give it a listen!

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it....*ahem*

Sorry about that.  LOL  I'm just so very excited about the Ingrid Michaelson concert I'm going to in November and now I have even more reason to be excited!!  Woot!   HUGE thanks to shawcrossedlove  who clued me in to the very recent addition of an opening act for Ingrid.  If you hadn't told me, I probably still wouldn't know.  LOL 

Now, if you know me...you know that I love Ingrid Michaelson and her music, but you also know that even more than I love Ingrid, I love Greg Laswell and his music and that I had to give up on the chance to see Greg back around my birthday due to the concert being too far away.  Well, after my birthday, I ended up with enough money to get a ticket to Ingrid's concert which is much closer. 

Well, guess who is now her opening act for the concert I'm going to?  GREG LASWELL!!!  Yay!!!  I not only am getting to see Ingrid but now Greg as well and even better...both of them TOGETHER!!!  SQUEE!!!  I sooo want to hear them do Ingrid's "I Can't Help Falling In Love."  That would just be the cherry on top of the whole thing. :D  Here it is from YouTube in case you're curious what I'm talking about.
